Kerry Small, one of the founders of Success With Honor, has been hired as the collective’s executive director. He told StateCollege.com that the group’s focus is solely on Penn State student-athletes, and the benefits that students can gain from NIL.
“The reality is that most athletes don’t get significant, if any, financial aid. Things like books, food, money for expenses, family travel for games — that wasn’t being covered. We felt that’s where Success With Honor could come in as the athletes could make money from NIL,” Small said.
“Our mission (is) to match up athletes with both individuals and businesses. The athletes can have deals that would help them get paid for their expenses and be able to benefit on their name, image and likeness,” he added. You can read the full story here.
Penn State’s Beaver Stadium is getting another makeover, with an eye on using the facility beyond game days. In a release on February 17, President Neeli Bendapudi said, “After extensive research and consultation, renovation for Beaver Stadium is the direction we want to take as it is far more economical than a new build. In addition, it’s important to note that no part of this project will be funded by tuition, student fees or any of our educational budget.”
“Penn State has some of the most dedicated and loyal fans in the world and they deserve a facility that has upgraded amenities and improved circulation around the facility to enhance the fan experience. It is my commitment that we will do what we must to preserve one of our most iconic spaces in the most economical way possible.”
No financial projections have been shared for the proposed renovations, which will be the first since 2001’s additions of the 60 skyboxes in a three-level structure above the East stands.

According to a new release, the new budget allocation model is used to determine the amount of funding — primarily from tuition and state funding — that Penn State provides to colleges, campuses, student support, and administrative units.
The University’s new budget includes funding for strategic needs and investments, like research. “To continue Penn State’s commitment to research and maintain its reputation as a premier global research institution, additional consideration was given for research support during the development of the budget allocation model,” the release reported, showing an allocation of $28.5 million in research support to protect and enhance research across the University.
